I’m a pianist, composer, and music educator based in Oakland, CA. For over 18 years, I’ve performed and recorded with top artists in the San Francisco Bay Area, particularly in the Afro-Cuban/salsa, Latin jazz, and Brazilian jazz scenes. I’m currently working with guitarist/composer Ray Obiedo’s Mistura Fina, which blends Brazilian jazz, Latin jazz, and East Bay funk and features singer Sandy Cressman.
I’m now composing original music for acoustic piano trio, to be released soon. Meanwhile, check out samples from my recordings with Tanaóra (Brazilian and Latin jazz) and La Moderna Tradición (Afro-Cuban charanga). In addition to playing piano, I co-produced these CDs.
The solo piano improvisations are the first original music I’ve released, and are a far cry from anything else I’ve recorded.
